What We Did

Campaign: Homies Advent Calendar

In collaboration with La Lutinerie and several Commercial Development Corporation(SDC) of the City of Montréal, Homies launched a digital Advent Calendar throughout December to activate neighborhoods and support local businesses.

The experience featured a narrative storyline inviting participants to explore the city in search of Golden Cookies, guided by an interactive map showcasing over 100 participating businesses.

A special in-app point within the experience unlocked an exclusive reward granting access to an augmented reality game, adding an immersive and playful layer to the activation. Each business visit allowed participants to collect a digital Golden Cookie and enter daily prize draws, transforming winter outings into a city-wide, story-driven holiday adventure.
‍

Objective

Create an immersive holiday experience in support of local shopping‍

The objective was to bring together citizens, local businesses, and partners around a collective activation, while offering a more engaging alternative to traditional promotional contests.

Through continuous storytelling, collection mechanics, and the integration of a key augmented reality moment, Homies aimed to encourage real-world movement, repeat participation, and emotional engagement throughout the month of December.

‍

‍Results

A memorable experience with lasting local impact‍

The Advent Calendar generated strong daily engagement, driven by narrative curiosity, the diversity of participating businesses, and the appeal of the augmented reality reward point.

Participating businesses benefited from increased visibility, tangible foot traffic, and inclusion in a shared story supported by institutional and cultural partners.

This activation demonstrated Homies’ ability to combine storytelling, technology, and local collaboration to transform a seasonal contest into an immersive, measurable, and scalable urban experience.
